Compatibility

The C5 Transaxle Adapter is designed specifically for the C5 Corvette transaxle suspension system. Review the compatibility requirements below before ordering.

Compatible Donor Vehicle

  • 1997–2004 Chevrolet Corvette (C5) — all trims
  • Uses factory C5 transaxle mounting points
  • Compatible with both manual and automatic C5 transaxle housings

Intended Applications

  • Custom tube frame chassis
  • Kit car builds (Locost, Factory Five, Ultima, etc.)
  • Purpose-built race cars
  • Restomod and custom street builds
  • Any chassis designed to accept C5 suspension geometry

Not Compatible With

  • C4 Corvette (1984–1996) — different mounting geometry
  • C6 / C7 / C8 Corvette — different transaxle design
  • Stock C5 Corvette (adapter eliminates the transmission — not a stock replacement)

Installation Overview

Full installation documentation is included with every order. The overview below is for reference only.

01

Prepare the Donor Transaxle

Remove the C5 transaxle from the donor vehicle. Clean all mating surfaces and inspect for damage. The adapter interfaces with the factory transaxle mounting flange.

02

Mount the Adapter

Bolt the adapter to the transaxle housing using the included grade-8 hardware. Torque to specification per the included installation guide. No machining required.

03

Integrate with Your Chassis

Mount the transaxle/adapter assembly to your custom chassis. The adapter provides the interface point — your chassis must be designed or modified to accept C5 suspension geometry.

04

Final Checks

Verify all fasteners are torqued to spec. Check alignment per your chassis design. Refer to the full installation guide for torque specs, clearance requirements, and final inspection checklist.
